Sierra Ellis, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has an interest in working with people to reach their health and healing goals. A Louisiana native, she received a Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Louisiana at Monroe and then her Master of Social Work from Grambling State University with a focus in direct clinical practice.
Utilizing a holistic approach, she provides a supportive, safe, and nonjudgmental environment to investigate all areas of a patient’s life. Additionally, she helps her patients to implement new ways of coping with challenges using an effective and empowering approach. She has a clinical background working in rural community mental health and hospice care. She has worked with people suffering with grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other diagnoses. Additionally, Sierra has experience working with homeless populations, sexual assault, and victims of domestic violence.
Sierra addresses tough issues by utilizing a strength-based approach. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focus Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Crisis Intervention, and EMDR. She is currently being trained in Mindfulness approaches. Her goal is to enhance a patient’s quality of life while helping them to achieve goals and positive wellbeing.
